Our Beliefs

What Matters Most To Us

When you visit a church you want to know, what is this church all about and what matters most to them? At Faith, we want to help people develop a thriving relationship with Jesus Christ. As we pursue this mission, here’s what matters most to us:

The Word of God: The Bible is God’s inspired word to us. Because of this we love, read, and teach the Bible. We don’t think the Bible is boring or outdated. Instead we believe the Bible contains timeless truths that need to be explained and followed in our time.

The Person of Jesus: Jesus is alive. As such he is the senior leader of our church and he is the reason we worship, sing, preach, love, and gather together. At Faith we believe Jesus is God. Furthermore we believe Jesus lived the life we were meant to live, he died the death we deserve and three days later he rose from the dead. Because Jesus lives today hope, salvation and forgiveness can be found in him.

The Power of the Holy Spirit: Jesus promised to send a helper to empower his people to live as he lived. As such we depend on the Holy Spirit to work in us and through us. As a church we know we need help and so we allow the Holy Spirit to help us live and love like Jesus.

The Mission of the Church: Jesus told the church to make disciples. Therefore our mission is to help people develop a thriving relationship with Jesus. We do this passionately, purposefully, and unapologetically. Jesus told us to make disciples and we will do this until he returns or takes us home.

The Family of God: We believe God the Father adopts people to be part of his forever family - the church. Because of this at Faith we strive to function as a family – meaning we look for gifted men to lovingly lead as elders and pastors - we call everyone to serve and give because we all have an important place in the family and we care for, listen to and love one another like Jesus cares for, listens to and loves the church.

The Next Generation: Jesus told us one day our race will be run. Because of this truth we strive to consistently pass on the baton of our faith to the next generation. This means we make room at Faith for young leaders to lead, gifted teachers to teach and new churches to form. Additionally this means we hold loosely to our methods while holding very tightly to these beliefs that matter most to us.

What we believe...

About the Bible

The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the verbally inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.

About God

In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. John 17:3; Revelation 4:11

That Jesus Christ is the true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest Advocate. John 1:1; Hebrews 1:8; I Corinthians 15:3,4; Matthew 1:18; Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 9:24

That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for Godly living and service. John 14:26; John 14:17; John 16:7-11

About Humanity

That man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and is therefore lost and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. Genesis 1:26; Romans 5:12; Titus 3:3-7

About Salvation

That the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God. Acts 4:12; Colossians 1:20; Romans 6:5,6; Titus 3:5-7

That water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed by the church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation. Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-39; 16:31-33; I Corinthians 11:23-25; Acts 22:16

About the Church

That the true church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head. Ephesians 1:22; Colossians 1:18

That only those who are thus members of the true Church Universal shall be eligible for membership in the local church. Acts 2

That Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs. Ephesians 1:22; Colossians 1:18

About the Future

In the personal and premillenial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. Acts 1:11; I Corinthians 15:51-52; I Thessalonians 4:16-18; Titus 2:13-14

In the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment. I Corinthians 15; Revelation 20:6; John 5:28, 29
